Aella, one of the models that I spoke with, said she has been a cammodel for around eight years. She says that she has become a camming advocate because it is a legitimate means of making money. She says, “I like to believe I’m helping those who may not have a job or many options.”

Another cam model, Kate, says she has been doing sexy webcam shows for about three years. She attributes her success to being flirtatious with her clients and to combining comedy and nudity into her shows.

She has been able keep her business going during the coronavirus outbreak, even though it is not possible for her to apply for disaster funding from the Small Business Association. She hopes more conversations will encourage more acceptance of camming.
